The war on drugs has gotten worst then what it was years ago. Now there is Mexican cartels that are killing each other because they want to have the power of money. Also alot of innocent people lives is being taken away because the drug dealers dont want any information to be given out to any reporters or police officers. the cartels in mexico has more power then the Mexican army, the police, and the government in mexico. they are the biggest bosses in mexico. If anything doesnt go according to their plans then they will take peoples life away. The government says more than 40,000 people have been killed since President Felipe Calderón took office in 2006 and threw the federal police and military at the cartels, with the toll for 2010, 15,237, the heaviest yet.

For more than 30 years, the United States and Mexico have engaged in a mutually destructive trade in which narcotics are sent north and high-caliber weapons shipped south. This illegal traffic in guns and drugs is a serious national security and public safety threat for both the U.S. and Mexico. Drug traffickers use ever more brutal measures to get their product into the United States, and U.S. Border Patrol agents face daily assaults with increasingly deadly results. The 2011 National Drug Threat Assessment found that Mexico-based drug trafficking organizations have infiltrated every region of the United States. Also they have some level of influence in more than 1,000 U.S. cities.
