This year one of the biggest topic has been the right of corporations. Americans feels that it not "we the people", its "we the corporations". I feel that corporation is not a person, even though it run by one it shouldnt be treated equally. I believe that the corporation is taking away human rites and strengths the Constitution. they have too much power and feel that they can do whatever they want and it affecting the human rite. It is not a freedom if speech because those who have more money are the one that have more freedom of speech then those with less money. Human beings are people; corporations are legal fictions. I feel that when the system no longer works the system then needs to change the system.
Although corporations are the main contributors to our economic survival, they interest should not come before that of the public. They do play an important role in our society, because without them, they'll be no need for government. They're the power source that keeps society alive. Companies should regard political strategies as integral to sustaining their competitive positions because public policy changes can affect them and their industries. The Supreme Court ruled a 5-4 decision that business should have the same freedom of speech as a human being last year. And its has affected Americas in many ways.
Evan,
ReplyDeleteThis post is okay. You've outlined the argument and clearly stated your opinion.
But don't forget to include:
1. An opposing viewpoints paragraph. Who does think that corporations deserve 1st amendment rights? Why did the Supreme Court side with them?
2. A short list of 3 facts (quotes, statistics, historical evidence) that you used in your article. This is worth 10 points.
